Our Sources

We don’t come up with these stories so it is only fair to post a list of places we goto to find our information for you. Blurbs about each site will be written… eventually! If you feel we have left a site out, please let us know! These sites are listed in no particular order.

Tom’s Hardware
: One of the best sites to find reviews, news, how-to guides, information on video games, hardware, software, and more. Tom’s has been around for many many years and is one of our reputable sources that we can not live without.

Gizmodo and Kotaku: Both sites owned by Gawker Media, have devoted individual sites to respective topics such as gadgets and technology in Gizmodo and video gaming news in Kotaku.

Engadget: Another gadget and technology site bringing you the latest and greatest news from various companies and rumors. Very similar to Gizmodo.

Ars Technica: or simply the art of technolgy, has been one of the front runners in tech news and business from around the world. They incorporate politics as well as legal topics.

Slashdot: One of the first sites I (Kurt) started reading along with Tom’s on tech and science news. Slashdot is usually the first of the sites to break out important news but lacks in the gadget news. It does however, have ground-breaking science technology which may be of other interests.

TechCrunch and CrunchGear: TechCrunch is primarily focused on profiling internet companies and while this may not be all that important as there are a lot of start-ups, these start-ups are mentioned and reviewed because of their potential impact on the internet. CrunchGear is the sister site to TechCrunch but brings gadget and tech news instead of the business.

Digg: A Web2.0 site where all content is user defined. People submit stories to Digg that they feel are interesting, cool or funny and the Digg community votes in real time if they like the story or not. The more good votes, the higher priority the story gets and the top 10 make the front page as stories like by many.

Technorati: Technorati is a site which users post their favorite blogs/sites and can quickly read stories from your favorite sites on one page.

Guru3D: Guru3D is primarily a hardware review site, filled with tests and benchmarks for hardware from CPUs to power supplies. When I am shopping for parts, I tend to check here for reviews on upcoming hardware releases.

cnet: One of the first tech sites to be launched with reviews of all electronics, downloads for free software (such as spyware or antivirus), and other tech news.

Wired: Wired is a one-off site which has some mainstream tech news that tends to be interesting. They may not publish multiple articles daily, but try to a couple of times a week.
