A better way to waste your money: Introducing Blu-spec CD’s

Just when you thought paying for the SONY Brand name was hitting an all-time high, Sony now plans to get as much money out of your pocket as possible with the new Blu-spec CD’s for the audiophiles (or really rich and stupid).

As reported on Engadget, Sony plans to distribute about 60 new CD’s this December on the Blu-spec media, with prices ranging from $25 - $42. Are you kidding me? I can buy an entire album online for 10 bucks and you want me to spend more money on the musical score of a Movie then on the Blu-ray DVD of the actual film…

Here’s the bonus: Apparently the Discs somehow still work with the classic CD Players. So somehow they stretched all that sound quality goodness onto their large-capacity high-quality discs, but your old CD player your Aunt Carol bought for you for your birthday 12 years ago at Walmart will pump out all those high def tunes…

Call me a non-believer, but I think this is just a snazzy way of making the stupid pay for something they already own. Only time will tell, time I won’t spend (along with my money).
