Smaller, Space saving Xbox coming by next year?

As you may or may not have heard (most likely the latter), Microsoft is working on some new motherboards and chipsets. Technically speaking, it’s unknown whether they will be used for an upcoming revision of the Xbox 360 or for it’s predecessor. But rumor is, these will be used for both refurbished models and a New, slimmer Xbox form factor by next year.
“What does this mean for me, Drewbizzle?” you ask? Well basically, this means that the Xbox may finally ridden itself from it’s huge hardware flaw. Xbox already increased their warranty by 3 years for all 360’s due to a heating issue; if these new form factors come out soon, they may be able to both lower the price and stabilize the platform in one shot.
Smaller sizes mean less parts, and less parts means cheaper build costs. While they have (finally) been proactive in the cooling department for later 360’s recently, it would be nice to have a model with a life expectancy greater than 70%.
Over the past few months, Xbox has watched Sony regain ground in the console market, most notably thanks to Blue-Ray DVD’s coattails.. (ok, so maybe the games are getting better!) . If Xbox can follow in Sony’s footsteps (remember, Sony streamlined the PS2 over the years to both reduce it’s size and somehow convince every Playstation fanboy to buy a new PS2) they may be able to trump Sony’s sales again, without the need of a media platform holding it’s hand.
I swear I’m not biased or anything!
Thanks Xbox360fanboy.
